Introduction

 

The conversion of Bailey displays is now available for a seamless transition into the new ABB IndustrialIT 800xA System.

 

ASSYST automated migration service is taking a huge step forward in upgrading Bailey graphic displays to the new ABB IndustrialIT 800xA System, for a reasonable price.

 

The process is simple. You send copy of your Bailey system graphic files and console tag database file (Composer, WinTools, etc…), indicate if you are interested in the static conversion only or in the static and dynamic conversion. You also indicate if you need custom modifications. Then, ASSYST Engineering group will evaluate your request and quickly return an estimate for the configuration work to be done.

 

Upon receipt of the order, ASSYST personnel will convert the graphic displays according to your request and will send the result files to be directly imported into ABB IndustrialIT 800xA System.

Service Description

ASSYST graphic conversion service comprises the following options:

  • Advanced graphic report. A very detailed report which indicates exactly how each Bailey graphic is configured and provides information on how the Bailey configuration is consistent throughout the whole project.

  • Static conversion. Configuration of all static elements. Displays can be resized as required.

  • Creation of dynamic symbols. Configuration of all dynamic symbols reproduced according to the Bailey symbols or as improved symbols based on configuration consistency (ex.: creation of multi-tag symbols).

  • Dynamic conversion. Configuration of all dynamic elements using 800xA dynamic symbols.

  • Custom modification. Custom configuration is available upon request if customers want to modify or add new graphics or options.

   Deliverables

 

All deliverables will be based on customer configuration files produced by applications such as COMPOSER and WINTOOLS. Project files must be complete with taglist, trendlist, graphics and symbols.

  • Advanced graphic report. Report provided in an Excel file.

  • 800xA graphic files. Conversion will be supplied as system files to be imported into IndustrialIT 800xA system. The importation procedure documentation is included to guide the user in setting up new displays.

Limitations

The operation and Engineering functionalities provided by the Bailey console software are NOT duplicated or provided with this service. The Annunciator Display Panels (ADP) and Keyboard functionality are NOT duplicated or provided with this service.

Options

To enhance your transition project, you should consider and ask for the following services:

  • Engineering Assistance. Before starting the conversion, ASSYST’s engineers will provide you with expert recommendations or assistance in the design of the required configuration, based on the advanced graphic report and the option you have chosen. This is generally priced on a time and materials basis.

  • Annunciator Display Panel. The Soft ADP functionality can be added as an option. This feature, displayed on the system screen next to the graphic, replicates the Bailey ADP OIS/MCS functionality and provides the fast navigation and alarm features that the operators are accustomed to.   • Operator Custom Keyboard. ASSYST keyboard replicating all direct control commands of a Bailey OIS/MCS (as Start/Stop, AUTO/MAN/CASC, Ramp Up/Down Slow/Fast, etc…) is available as an option. This option greatly improves the speed of the operator interventions. Information
